Francis Lui, Deputy Chairman of the Galaxy Entertainment Group has risen in rank and reached the first spot in the 2019 Asian Gaming Power 50. Held at JW Marriot, Galaxy Macau, Asian Gaming Power 50 is the Inside Asian Gaming’s ranking of the most influential figures in the gaming industry related to the Asian continent. Sheldon Adelson held the top position for six consecutive years, but from now on (at least until the next Asian Gaming Power 50) Francis Lui is the top man.
Adelson has been plagued with illness and that reduced his ability to successfully manage Las Vegas Sands, the company he founded 31 years ago. He was rank second and Lawrence Ho, the Chairman of Melco Resorts and Entertainment was third.
Although Adelson is not number one anymore, his colleagues from Las Vegas Sands, Wilfried Wong, and Rob Goldstein managed to get in the top 10. Goldstein was ranked seventh while Wilfried Wong was eight. One significant change was when MGM Co-Chairperson and Executive Director Pansy Ho went up from 10th to 5th place.
