2020 iPhones Will Have iPhone 4-like Chassis Design, Says Kuo

It has been just two weeks since the iPhone 11 series was announced, however, rumors have already started about the next generation.

Reports have been published about the probable display sizes which will vary from 5.4 to 6.1 and 6.7-inches along with smaller notches and 5G support. Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo’s latest prediction says that next year’s iPhones will see a radical design change with a reversion to the iPhone 4 chassis.

Kuo says that 2020 iPhones will have a flat metal frame and 2.5D glass construction. It is expected that the new design and 5G support will bring about a higher demand with an estimated 85 million shipments for 2020. This will also result in higher production costs which will impact the final prices of the handsets.

All three next-gen iPhones will likely be shipped with OLED displays whereas the two more pricey models may also have new 3D ToF cameras around the back.
