After 888’s big acquisition of Betbright, as Betbright users have been able to transition to the new platform.

888 representatives have said they are working on a solution to the problem. 888, one of the world’s largest online casino holdings, purchased Betbright for almost $20 million to improve their sports betting platform.

After the acquisition, Betbright announced they would no longer be taking bets, and users were asked to withdraw their winnings within 30 days.

However, 888 will be paying out winners of Cheltenham Festival bets through Betbright’s existing services. Cheltenham Festival is one of the UK’s biggest horse racing events of the year.

A spokesperson for 888 said,

“as a gesture of goodwill, 888 will be honoring and paying out on all winning Cheltenham Festival bets which were placed through BetBright’s sportsbook.”

With this said, no other announcements have been made about other outstanding bets that are owed to users.

The news has enraged many users as season-long football bets and other bets were announced to be now void.

The British Horseracing Authority has not made a statement on the acquisition, but the UK’s Gambling Commission announced they are looking into the matter as they have received a high volume of complaints.

Betbright is receiving most of the flak for the unpaid bets, but some gamblers have struggled to transition their bets from BetBright to 888. Former Betbright users have been unable to onboard onto the new service.
