A Look Back at the Best New Slots to Debut This Week

Slot Machines

Another week flies by, and once again casino software providers have been working hard to ensure that a flurry of new slots make their way to players at top casino sites. As usual, we’ve highlighted some of the more appealing new releases you can try your hand at right here. Let’s begin with some of the similar lots to debut.

What Went Live This Week?

Starblast

First out of the gate this week is Play ‘n Go’s Starblast. As you may have heard, Starblast is basically Play ‘n Go’s version of NetEnt’s Starburst, and the two games are incredibly similar in terms of what they offer. Playable for 10p a spin, this release provides expanding wilds and re-spins, just like its NetEnt rival, but cash prizes and multipliers are worth considerably more in this new game. It will also be available to play at many domains which typically offer NetEnt slots, so having the option to choose between that and this new Play ‘n Go game does seem likely.

Final Countdown

Europe’s The Final Countdown is still one of the most played songs of the 80s. Just in case it may have slipped out of the public eye, though, Big Time Gaming is bringing the song to the casino world, with a new slot release. Simply known as The Final Countdown, this game debuted this week as a 5-reel, 4,096-line game. Bets are as cheap as chips at just 20p a spin, and with expanding wilds, roaming wilds, colossal wilds and wild multipliers, nobody could argue that The Final Countdown doesn’t provide ample opportunities for players to land wins.

Spin Town

Red Tiger Gaming’s newest slot to debut is known as Spin Town. This slot is being released as a quasi-British themed title, and one which features various characters from the United Kingdom, all stereotypical, of course. They include hooligans, rockers, and royal guards. With bets costing as little as 20p a game for a spin on 40 lines, this title is already offering good value for money. Throw in the fact that Spin Town also dishes out three bonus rounds, 1×2 wilds, free spins and grouped wilds and there is plenty for players to enjoy in Spin Town.

The Big Guns

Flash

Of course, new slots from major providers always tend to do well. This week, Playtech added another epic title to their DC progressive jackpot network. The Flash is the latest superhero slot to debut, and it offers the same four randomly triggered progressive prizes which can be found in other slots in the series. However, The Flash provides 50 lines of gameplay (at 50p a spin) and has a Battle Bonus which can see players win decent cash prizes based on whether they select Reverse Flash or Flash characters.

Temple of nudges

Scandinavian casino software provider, NetEnt haven’t been resting on their laurels, either. They, too, have launched a new game this week. Known as Temple of Nudges, it is loosely based on the Mayan/Aztec theme and provides 243-line action with nudges, re-spins, wilds and jackpot prizes worth over 2,000x a bet. The nudge feature is the highlight here, and it is triggered whenever a winning combo appears. The bonus essentially allows players another chance to add winning symbols to their combo and makes for a touch of something different.

The Surprise Package

Mayanera

The surprise entry this week comes from a relatively unknown provider. Spinmatic launched their Mayanera slot, and if their future releases are anything as exciting as this game, they are one to watch. The Mayan-themed release isn’t played over conventional reels but turning wheels. Bets cost as little as 10p a game and players can monitor their progress via a Progress Indicator. This will trigger bonuses such as free spins, multipliers and more. However, randomly triggered features have also been included in this 3D slot, which really is a delight to play. It may be tough to find a casino offering the new game, though.

Pending Delivery

Pride and prey

Taking a quick look ahead to more new games which will surely be on their way before too long, we have Pride and Prey. This new WMS Gaming developed slot features an African wildlife theme and is a generic 5-reel, 20-line effort. However, as almost all WMS slots generally come with unique and creative gaming engines, there may be a few more surprises thrown a player’s way with this upcoming game, which is set for an April release.

Scarab Queen

More than a few Ancient Egyptian and Viking-themed slots have been unveiled over the last month, but two additional ones are in the pipeline. Playtech is exploring the Egyptian-theme with their new Scarab Queen, which is set for a May release. The game will feature generic Ancient Egyptian imagery but will offer a massive non-progressive jackpot worth 1,000,000 coins, as well as free spins, re-spins and instant win prizes.

The next Egyptian slot to debut – in theory, a month before Playtech’s new game – is Novomatic/Greentube’s Pyramid Fortunes. This 243 ways to win game is pencilled in for an April launch date, offers two types of wilds (one is a multiplier) and can deliver free spins with low paying icons removed. A non-progressive jackpot worth 50,000 coins is also being included in this generic but fair game.

Vikings Fortune: Hold and Win is the latest Norse slot to roll out of Playson’s library. The game is played over 5 reels and 25 lines and has a tasty 100,000-coin non-progressive prize to be won. Expect the Hold and Win feature to come into play whenever a winning combo shows up on the reels. Free spins, as well as wilds, are also believed to be springing up in the new game.
