Villa have completed the signing of Brentford centre-back Ezri Konsa for £12m.
Ezri Konsa, 21, had been a key target for Aston Villa manager Dean Smith, whom they worked together when he was the boss of Brentford.
The defender has made 47 appearances for Brentford following a £2.5m transfer from Charlton in 2018.
“He’s a high-potential player who I believe can step up to the Premier League and I’m really looking forward to working with him again,”
Konsa will meet Villa’s squad on Thursday when they leave to the U.S to continue their pre-season tour.
Smith has focused more on his defence having also brought in Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth. He is also looking into the possibility of re-signing Man United’s 21-year-old Alex Tuanzebe on loan.
Tuanzebe play a vital part in Aston Villa’s promotion back to the English top flight competition.
