Targeting young talents with low-price deal for the squad’s new blood in January during the world pandemic seems to be the popular idea among the European big clubs lately to enable rotating the squads as well as ensuring their future. Barcelona and AC Milan can be regarded as one of those teams. They are seeking for the inexpensive talented youngsters for their squad for better campaign in the second half of the season which can be intriguing for the teams with limited option on the bench.

Those two football giants are currently aiming for signing Hoffenheim’s defender, Melayro Bogarde. The Dutch youngster has attracted a number of high profile teams despite the fact that he has only made one appearance in Bundesliga. His versatility in various positions such as a center back, right back and defensive milfielder is one key point which will certainly become the great investment for the team.

The 18-year old defender is still under the contract with Hoffenheim which expires in the summer 2021. However, either Rossonerri or the Catalan side seems to be preparing at least two scenarios which will eventually let the player leave his current team. First, they will lure the Bundesliga side to sell him in low price this January. The second one is by making a pre-contract deal with the Dutch teen in January before signing him for free, provided that the former Feyenoord U-17 player decides not to extend his contract with his recent employer. The first option seems more beneficial for Hoffenheim than the second one, though Sebastian Hoenes’ men will be striving to keep Bogarde in their squad a bit longer.

Melayro Bogarde has been one of the promising talents in Netherlands. The cousin of Winston Bogarde, the former top Dutch wing back in the mid 1990s who once played for AC Milan and Barcelona too, moved to Hoffenheim in 2018/2019 season by joining their U-17 team. Yet, he has not been able to make his senior debut in Bundesliga until this season. Bogarde was selected in the starting IX on November, 8th while the team was taking on Vfl Wolfsburg on the road.
