British bank Barclays has hired another Australian IT executive. This is their second Australian bank IT executive who they have “nabbed” from Australian organizations. The ex-Macquarie bank chief analytics officer Sheetal Patole has moved to the UK, finding a new job with Barclays where she will work as a chief data officer.
Before hiring Sheetal Patole, Barclays has snatched Craig Bright who worked as a chief information officer at Westpac last year. In 2014, Barclays has realized another “transfer”, snatching CBA chief information officer Michael Harte. Sheetal Patole is happy about her new job, announcing at LinkedIn that she will responsible for designing and implementing data strategies and systems including real-time operational data platforms, information management, and artificial intelligence.
She wrote:
“Day one as chief data officer (UK) at Barclays. A new chapter and journey begins. I am excited to be part of an amazing organization at a critical moment in history.”
After serving as a chief analytics officer role at Macquarie’s banking and financial services for nearly four years, Sheetal Patole has now continued building her career in London. It is still unknown if Macquarie has found a replacement for Mr. Patole.
