On Thursday there was a report by the Tennessean stating that NASCAR’s President Steve Phelps told the Associated Press Sports Editors Commissioners that the banquet would not only be held on December 5th as previously reported but also in 2020.
NASCAR awards will be moving from Las Vegas to Nashville, and it seems not to be an easy process.
The CEO of Nashville Convection & cooperation, Butch Spyridon confirmed that the banquet agreement is through 2020.
He said in an email to NBC that they had agreed to a two-year deal to host their awards week.
The Awards Banquet had been held in New York City for more than 25 years and later moved to Las Vegas from 2009-2018.
