Cleveland Indians beat Kansas City 5-4 on Sunday. Francisco Lindor made the run that made Indians win. Lindor seemed concerned after hitting a foul ball that injured a child.
This was the latest in the major whereby a foul ball hit a fan. Lindor was informed about his liner hitting a three years old boy, he said that nobody wants to see the other getting hurt. However, the kid is in a stable condition.
The protective netting at Progressive Field runs to the end of each dugout. Lindor’s line drive landed several sections beyond the netting and was about 12 to 15 rows into the stands.
After the incidence, Lindor made the call for major leaguers to extend the netting. Chicago White Sox has taken action by extending the netting all way down. By doing so, they will be able to protect the fans from foul balls.
The previous foul ball incidence involved a two-year-old girl who was taken to hospital with a head injury in Houston.
Kansas City is 7-3 since the All-Star break and shattered Cleveland’s six-game winning streak with a 1-0 victory on Saturday.
