A new Galaxy S10 software update is bringing important features from the Note 10 to Samsung’s other best in class phones. According to SamMobile, right now, the update is rolling out in specific regions for the Galaxy S10, S10 Plus, and S10E, and offers support for DeX PC connectivity, Live Focus blur effects in video recordings, as well as other camera features.
With the Note 10, Samsung revamped its DeX concept, allowing you to access your phone’s apps from any computer instead of requiring a separate monitor setup. Perhaps, expectedly, we found that it is still a somewhat unsophisticated solution, as these things tend to be.
However, edge-case functionality has a better chance of working for people when it isn’t locked to a single device, so there may be Galaxy S10 users who will find it handy.
The update has reportedly started rolling out in Germany and Switzerland, hinting it may only be ready for the Exynos processor-powered S10 phones. Models distributed in the US and some other regions use Qualcomm Snapdragon processors and have received a security patch already this month, so the features update may take some time.
