Kindred Group (previously Unibet Group), sports betting and iGaming operator, confirmed the launch of digital gaming and betting products in US state of Pennsylvania last week. The announcement is in line with the Group’s strategy to establish a presence in what will most likely become the largest gambling market in the world. This is another important milestone for the company that seeks expansion in the states.

This is not the first time Kindred is making waves in PA: in late September, it premiered its Unibet Sportsbook at Mohegan Sun Pocono.
Kindred’s PA History

iGambling operator was green lit by the betting regulators on Friday letting them present their online casino and sports betting products and services in this state. Kindred continues to adopt a local focus and global expertise wherever it operates, ensuring that customers can enjoy Unibet’s full range of first-class sportsbook and casino products in a familiar, safe and secure environment. The Friday announcement came to no surprise, as Kindred was working on expanding their footprint in the US, especially in the states where sports betting is already legal.

Kindred has previously communicated the partnership with Mohegan Sun Pocono to enter Pennsylvania. Together with the partnership with Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Union, Kindred sees this as a key building block in increasing Unibet’s brand awareness in Pennsylvania. Kindred will use Pala Interactive’s online gaming platform in Pennsylvania and will use Kambi’s sport betting platform, which has also been communicated at an earlier stage.

A sports betting book made its debut at the said property this September. It occupies 1,130 square feet and was the 11th sportsbook to launch since Pennsylvania began with the retail sports betting services in November 2018.

Official Statements

SVP Kindred US, Manuel Stan, said at the launch:

“After a successful launch of our betting lounge, Unibet Sportsbook at Mohegan Sun Pocono, we are thrilled to take the partnership with Mohegan Sun online and bring the Pennsylvanian guests a state-of-the-art online gambling experience, including the best online casino games and an impressive online sportsbook”

“Mohegan Sun has been a great partner throughout the preparation for this launch and we are confident that this will be a long-term and successful relationship in bringing a top-quality product to Pennsylvania”, continues Stan.

Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment Vice President of Interactive Gaming, added:

“We’re thrilled to introduce to our customers an opportunity to place bets and game online within the state borders. Our sportsbook lounge is a highly engaging and joyful experience on-premises and Kindred Group are able to extend that experience online through our strategic partnership.”

New Jersey Came First

Kindred’s online gaming is powered by Pala Interactive gaming platform. They have agreed the use of Kambi’s betting platform earlier this year, for the purpose of digital sportsbooks.

The company has joined forces with several gaming companies in the US in recent months, after the regulation of sports betting has swept across the nation.

Pennsylvania is the second state in which Kindred launched their online products in. They entered New Jersey earlier this year, where they began their digital sportsbook and gaming operations. Their partner in NJ is Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.
