Donations for £ 5.4 M Has Received GambleAware

GambleAware, the British gaming charity, received £ 5.4 million in donations during a semester through September 30 of this year. Most of these contributions came from its main donor GCV with 1.46 million pounds.

The betting and sports games operator had already donated a similar amount during the previous fiscal year. While other donors like William Hill made donations of £ 1 million, the same amount as in 2018 and Bet365 who donated £ 868k.

Other operators also continued to make important contributions this year to GambleAware. This is the case of Rank Group, which has so far made donations for £ 284,500, through its well-known brands Mecca Bingo and Grosvenor Casinos.

GambleAware had announced earlier this year the funding of an additional £ 3.9m for programs to deal with problems with the game.
£ 2.35 million out of a total of £ 3.9 million will be used to expand the infrastructure aimed at the in-person treatment of gambling addiction in the United Kingdom. While another £ 705,000 will be used to finance the National Game Help Line.

In addition, an additional £ 435,000 will be invested in making computerized cognitive behavioral therapy accessible to people.
For the development of a peer addiction treatment program, another remaining £ 438,000 is planned.
