In the final table there were nine players playing the accumulated prize, of the 15 that started the day. Although Erik Gorman started last in the leaderboard at the start of the game, he had a surprising and overwhelming progress as the hands were distributed.

After much battle, the 43-year-old arrived at the final table of 9 leading the table in chips and defeating Randall Rothwell, who was in ninth place. Gorman’s pocket tens were more than Rothwell’s right as-jack.

While their seven contenders fought among themselves, an enlarged Gorman made his way to the prize. The winner of a WSOP bracelet, Ken Aldridge, left the table when his kings of pocket could not with the pocket aces of Michael Kassem. The player would go after the search for another bracelet holder with Kyle Cartwright who took sixth place.

The other five remaining players were falling one by one. Hannah Guthrie found pocket aces and used them to take down Fikret Kovac. His queen-king could not reach the missiles launched by Guthrie.

Gorman went after the hunt for his remaining rivals by picking up dozens again that he employed against Ryan Jones’ as-jack.

Michael Kassem needed to accumulate more chips to get into hand in hand, but his all-in with queen-ten off-suit was immediately called by Gorma’s as-jack. His high ace was enough and he took the pot which gave the champion a chip advantage of 17 million to 13 million. This was enough.

In the final duel Guthrie took the lead at first, but luck helped Gorman. The player however could not avoid the full house on the river. In the next hand, then the ace-queen of Gorman won the ace-three of Guthrie.
