The Toffees have reached an agreement with Monaco over a loan deal for defender Djibril Sidibe and it includes an option to buy in future.
The France international is expected to undergo a medical on Wednesday and is likely to provide back-up for Seamus Coleman.
Everton were interested in 27-year-old before Thursday’s transfer deadline after they let go Jonjoe Kenny to Schalke on a loan deal earlier this summer.
Sidibe can fit across the backline and had been linked with moves to English top-flight sides West Ham, Newcastle and Crystal Palace.
He joined Monaco from Lille in 2016, making 114 appearances since then. The Ligue 1 side are reportedly also interested in signing Henry Onyekuru from Everton.
