The internal content studio that was acquired by EveryMatrix belonged to the Gaming Innovation Group and is now called Spearhead Studios. It will be based in Marseille, Spain and will operate as a subsidiary company of the supplier.

The former studio recently sold by GiG, is led by former GiG Games managing director, Mathias Larsson. The GiG company announced in September its decision to leave its game studio patented in order to focus on other business areas of the industry.

Spearhead Studios, has capacity for game concept design and JavaScript game development; it will also focus on digital artist production and animation, along with UI / X design, game / QA tests, audio production and certification and location.

The executive director and co-founder of the group, Ebbe Groes, said that

“EveryMatrix is an established B2B brand and entering the game development sector was something we wanted to do for some time.”

He commented that

“Having a creative game studio led by a brilliant executive like Mathias Larsson distinguishes EveryMatrix in this competitive industry and we are confident that this combo will serve our customers and partners very well.”

He revealed that behind this acquisition is

“the tremendous success of our CasinoEngine product, which has strong synergies with Spearhead”. Added that, however, they will maintain “highly independent study activity, gaining market share on their own merits while remaining true to our principles of full transparency and maximum coverage in CasinoEngine.”

The study was opened by GiG in 2017, but decided not to invest more in it in September to focus on other key strategic areas. The 25 employees GiG Games had in the studio have already received termination packages for the transfer, Groes said.

Among the creations of the GiG studio, now Spearhead Studios, is Book of Souls, which had in the first 10 months of its launch more than 20 million rounds of games. The new plans of the study include the completion of several video slot projects that were left unfinished and the launch of some table games such as Roulette and Blackjack.

“I am very excited to participate in the launch of Spearhead Studios and continue the work we have already begun,” said Mathias Larsson, director of the study.

He added that the study has

“a very talented and highly qualified team that will succeed in the coming years. Being part of a company as prosperous as EveryMatrix will strengthen our offer to the market and help Spearhead reach a wider audience.”
