FanDuel’s Online Sports Gambling Platform Goes Live in West Virginia

sports betting

Another platform goes live. It’s FanDuel’s online sports gambling venue in West Virginia. Players in the Mountain State are ecstatic. Iowa and Indiana are sure to follow.

Credit goes to the Greenbrier Resort for forming a partnership with the company to promote its first sportsbook app.

Great technology

A spokesperson for FanDuel maintains that their sportsbook is now available anywhere inside West Virginia. It uses some of the same technology as the platform in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

FanDuel officials explain that their group developed its own account and wallet technology as the backbone of the new operating system on the app in West Virginia. Customers have noted that they can simultaneously use their fantasy sports and sportsbook winnings.
Why West Virginia? Well, it hasn’t had an online sportsbook enter the market since BetLucky last year. And that arrangement was short term.

Will regulations rule?

There are always contingenies to going live. Many states have requirements for mobile sports gambling venues to register at a retail casino. Will West Virginia follow suit?

While we wait to find out, FanDuel is preparing sportsbooks at the Diamond Jo Casino and Diamond Jo Dubuque in Iowa on September 4th. Don’t be surprised to see it launched at the Blue Chip Casino Hotel and Spa in Michigan City.

Word is out that the Belterra Casino Resort in Florence, Indiana will open another FanDuel sportsbook.
