French lottery group FDJ has decided to launch its initiative of donating more than to homegrown athletes who require financial aid. This initiative will be realized ahead of the Paris Olympics Games 2024.
There are 24 athletes included and even 30 other young prospects who require assistance. Athletes competing in Olympic and Paralympic disciplines are included in this action. They will be selected by 2020, right before 2022 Winter Games in Beijing and 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Those who are chosen for receiving this aid will be granted €30,000 per annum in the years ahead of 2022 and 2024 Games. Also, they will get the chance to mentor others at annual seminar on career management.
Former boxer Sarah Ourahmoune and wheelchair tennis player Michael Jeremiasz will be the jury that will decide the 24 athletes who will receive this aid.
The group spokesmen stated:
“FDJ is reinforcing its historic commitment to the top-level sport, in the continuity of coaching young champions led by the group for nearly 30 years.”
FDJ already supported UEFA Championship in France 2016 and Paris 2024 bid.
Also, FDJ has been a co-sponsor of the Groupama-FDJ cycling team and the FDJ-Nouvelle-Aquitaine-Futuroscope women’s cycling team. They are also a partner of French football clubs of Olympique Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais, Nantes and AS Monaco.
