The sports data and technology company, Genius Sports, partnered with the Dutch Basketball League (DBL) for the use of the live streaming platform and data supply.
The agreement stipulates that Genius is committed to providing the league with both the automated streaming service and the GeniusLive production service, which will be implemented in all DBL locations for the 2019-20 season.
In addition, the DBL can offer through its new website all full live basketball games along with comments and integrated graphics.
Genius will also provide the league with other technological solutions related to live data collection as well as competition management. This will allow DBL to obtain live game statistics from the field, which will help you with the momentum of your bookmarks, mobile applications, your website and streaming solutions.
Since 2004, Genius has been running its FIBA LiveStats and FIBA Organizer tools in partnership with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).
DBL President Ramses Braakman said:
“As a promising league, we really value your approach, advice and passion for basketball. “Their cutting-edge, but affordable, technology allows the DBL to punch well above its weight given our limited resources.”
Genius basketball director Romain Vez added that the
“partnership with the DBL represents a pivotal moment for Genius Sports and our mission to continue driving the digital development of world basketball through live data and video.”
Vez reported that
“FIBA LiveStats and FIBA Organizer solutions are already used by leagues and federations in more than 150 countries worldwide and each of these partners, such as DBL, can now benefit from high-quality and cost-effective transmission technology.”
This agreement between Genius and DBL comes after the company entered into a new integrity partnership last week with the Major Division of Colombian Professional Soccer (Dimayor), the governing body of the main football competitions in the South American country.
