Manoj Sinha the communication minister on Friday had introduced the new e-commerce portal only for the Department of Posts. This is giving a way of giving a chance to the online market platform to all the rural artists and public sector units to sell their goods. The primary reason to provide the platform is to sell products for small artists. If anyone wishes to sell their goods they can easily sell them on the site. There are no limitations for the e-commerce players. The India Post will deliver the facility to pick up and deliver the goods in over 1.5 lakh areas.
The platform will deliver an e-marketplace to vendors particularly to the rural artisans, self-help groups, women businesspersons, state and central PSUs, independent bodies to sell their goods to consumers all over the nation, stated by the Communications Ministry. Sinha also told to the reporters after the promotion that a separate parcel executive has been formed which has the power to decide on the price of the parcel and other connected problems. Secretary of Department of Posts Ananta Narayan Nanda said that the recently launched online market platform would also have the plan to return products by customers. The sector has made registration of vendors on the portal free for six months.
In this platform, people will get the advantage of internet banking only for Post Office Savings Bank (POSB). This facility is only provided by to the customers who are under Core Banking Solution. Presently around 17 crore POSB accounts will be possible and clients can also handover funds online to RD (Recurring Deposit) and PPF (Public Provident Fund) accounts of post offices.
