Buccaneers young star DT Vita Vea is to be sidelined for six to eight weeks. The young defensive tackle got a severe lower-body injury which is rumored to be a sprained LCL in the knee.
The only good news is that he will take a shorter time to heal. Vea is doing well, and he may return early in the season. He will miss just a few regular-season games. It seems like he didn’t suffer structural damage.
Vea is now 24 years old; he was No. 12 overall draft pick last year. He got integrated into the Bucs system. One year in the Bucs, Vea has transformed into one of the best defensive tackles in NFL.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers are making the opening season debut against San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers. With Vea being absent, it may require more effort to push to the threshold.
