Twitter Says Resolved Issues Could Have Exposed User Country Code

As per the report by Twitter, it said on Monday that it has fixed its issues with one of its complaint forms that could have exposed country code of phone numbers linked to account holders. On the 16th of November, the issue got fixed and did not expose any kind of phone number or personal details of any users, as said by the company.

Twitter also said that it acquired a large number of queries from individual IP addresses located in China and Saudi Arabia. Much doubtful traffic to a Twitter user platform appears to be part of a government-backed motion coming from China and Saudi Arabia.

The company has no knowledge regarding the activity, but alerted users earlier about the excess caution which should be taken were reported on Monday. While they cannot approve to resolved or attribute certain situation it is not possible that some of these IP addresses may have ties to state-sponsored actors. Twitter failed to give any kind of additional information on the issue.
