One might have seen many movies with Pokers. There are TV Serials as well that are cantered around the game. In all of these on-screen appearances, we have seen a journeyman. However, did you know that there was a series that was actually named Journeyman? Well, if you are not, then you have missed some fascinating poker-based series. Even though it was a short-lived series, Journeyman was one of the finest series which was aired on NBC in 2007. The show only ran for 13 episodes and then went off the air.
The Journeyman was different than a general American series. It was propelled by Poker and was a real package of entertainment. What was the most interesting part of it? It was a Sci-Fi series. Well, that might sound weird, but the maker of the show, Kevin Falls described it as the Sci-Fi series for those people who do not like Sci-Fi. Yes, and it made an impact. The show was based on Dan Vasser, played by Kevin McKidd and his dead fiancée who isn’t dead. And yes, Dan Vasser time travels. He travels between time periods and comes back to see his wife as well. But she does not have an iota of information that the fiancée of her husband actually survived.
Dan Vessar has been shown as a character who is addicted to poker and has a knack of losing at it. The quantum leap of the character between time periods and the faceoff with his own self makes it very interesting along with the Poker cuisine.
The show ran for 13 periods but that went off the air after the writer’s strike. The show unfortunately never made it to any of the streaming channel later as well. The genuine poker show would be a treat for the poker fans if it comes to any video streaming channel.
Unfortunately, to see the journeyman, you need to do some work and buy a DVD whether in the USA or the UK. However, a thrilling experience and adventure is guaranteed.
