An argument between Kansas City Chiefs star Tyreek Hill and her fiancée, Crystal Espinal was broadcasted on a local radio station on Tuesday.
The recorded conversation was more than 11 minutes and was also aired at Kansas City sports station. The conversation is said to have been recorded in Dubai airport early this year. The part that was aired included where they’re arguing about the validity of a 2014 incident which involved domestic abuse.
However, the Chiefs has already heard the whole audio and had prior knowledge of the situation.
The incident took place in Stillwater Oklahoma and resulted in Hill being kicked out of Oklahoma State’s football team. Hill pleaded guilty, thus avoiding imprisonment. He completed his trail requirement, and the case records were cleared.
At the end of the recording, Hill expresses regret for entering into a relationship with Espinal and deny injuring the child. Hill said he is hard on his son but won’t go to the extent of hurting him.
According to Espinal, their son is terrified of Hill but instead, Hill sees it as a sign of respect. Hill case of child abuse is no longer active. The NFL, on the other side, doesn’t require a player to receive criminal charges so that the league can discipline him. They punish all players who make the league look bad.
Hill spoke with NFL investigators on 26th June in Kansas City. During the meeting, sources told Yahoo sport that he had a letter which disputed the child abuse case. He also claimed to have text to help explain the situation.
For now, the Chiefs are optimistic that a ruling will come on the matter before the start of training camp. Depending on the results from NFL investigators, they are hopeful that not only will he be in the attendance of start camp on July 26 but also they will engage him in contract negotiations for an extension. Hill is entering his final rookie deal.
