Kevin Byard becomes the highest-paid safety in the NFL. The Tennessee Titans have agreed to sign the Young safety to a five years $70.5 million deal. Out of this, $30 million is guaranteed.
In his three NFL seasons, he has an outstanding performance which includes one Pro Bowl and one All-Pro team. Byard was a third-round pick out of Middle Tennessee State in 2016. He is 25 years old and was to earn $2 million this season.
Now Byard’s deal is higher than Landon Collins, who was the highest safety with a transaction that averaged $14 million a year. He recently signed a six-year $84 million deal with Redskins.
In 2018, Byard led Titans defensive snaps with 1,043, 90 tackles, two sacks and eight passes defended.
