The Aria in Las Vegas was host to the first Global Poker Awards, an event that combined the American and European version of the awards ceremony.

20 awards were given out ranging from Vlogger of the Year to Tournament Director of the Year.

American Almedin “Ali” Imsirovic won Breakout Player of the Year for his 2018 results. He already holds 7 titles and has won over $4 million from poker.

John Cynn won Tournament Performance of the year for his WSOP Main Event win. The Washington state native took home $8.8 million in his important win.

The event also highlighted the importance of new media, awarding a trophy to the best streamer, vlogger, and podcast related to poker.

Andrew Neeme won best Vlogger of the Year. He has a poker and travel YouTube channel with over 100,000 subscribers.

Dutchman Lex Veldhuis won Streamer of the Year for his streams on Twitch. The Chip Race Poker Podcast hosted by David Lappin and Dara O’Kearney was crowned the best podcast.
