One of LeBron James critics is David Griffin. Earlier in his career, LeBron James was very determined to win, especially when he was in Cleveland. Griffin was his coach at the time; he now questions whether he still wants to win so badly.
Magic Johnson stepped in and answered Griffin. On Friday, following a series of tweets, Johnson defended LeBron saying that Lakers fans should have nothing to worry. According to him, LeBron is committed to bringing the championship back to Los Angeles. He also acknowledged that winning a title is sometimes tricky, even with great players.
While in Cavalier, James fulfilled his promise by delivering a title. Cleveland won the 2016 championship. David Griffin, the newly hired New Orleans executive vice president of basketball operation in a sport, illustrated feature seemed to question whether James still has the same determination. Magic Johnson tweet seemed to answer him.
“There wasn’t a lot else for him,” Griffin told SI. “I don’t think he’s the same animal anymore about winning.”
Griffin also said that he grew tired of LeBron since he had to rebuild a roster around him each year. To him, it was not sustainable and not comfortable.
Johnson helped James sign with the Lakers. Thus he might have a good idea what LeBron is up to next season. Magic is also predicting that LeBron will win NBA MVP next season. It’s a matter of time we see whether LeBron will blow the heads of his critics. Stay calm, we will see.
