Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is set for a lengthy spell on the side-lines after he was picked up a calf injury during his clubs 4-1 victory against Norwich City on Friday.
Alisson had to be substituted during the 39th minute after struggling while playing a goal kick and was replaced by Adrian. An initial assessment has suggested that Alisson may be out of action until the end of September which means that he may miss the Reds first Champions League game.
“It’s the calf and that’s it,” Klopp said as he ruled the Brazilian out of facing Chelsea in the European Super Cup on Wednesday.
“He couldn’t carry on, that’s not a good sign, and we have to see. Wednesday he will not play. With all my experience I can say that already.”
