We’ve all witnessed how Manchester United has struggled for goals this season. With only eight scores in six games, the club is at the 11th position, 13 points below Liverpool which is leading with 21 points.
Ole Gunnar has confirmed the club’s intention to sign a striker in the coming January transfer window. The team has been linked to Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams, Juventus duo Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic as well as Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
Sancho and Mandzukic are held high in the speculation and we are yet to see who will get signed. Lyon’s striker Moussa Dembele has also been named a potential transfer for United which urgently needs goals.
The transfer of both Lukaku and Sanchez has greatly affected Manchester United in terms of goals and creativity. So once the striker void has been filled, Ole Gunnar and his managing team will be on the lookout for more forwards to spice up their game. Leicester City’s James Maddison has been rumored to be in Ole’s plans of restoring creativity at Old Trafford.
On strikers that the club needs, Ole Gunnar emphasized that they needed players who will be present for the long term. This explains why Utd failed to sign in strikers during the off-season.
Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku has been doing well at San Siro where he has scored three goals that propelled Antonio Conte’s team to six wins in the Serie A fixtures. Despite his good start, Ole is still convinced that it was wise to let the Belgian player go. Manchester United will face Arsenal today at Old Trafford. Stay tuned.
