An historic multi-year agreement has just been reached between Melco Resorts and Entertainment and the City Football Group.
It is an exclusive deal between the gambling operator and two football clubs that opens the way for a gambling and betting sponsorship.
The teams in question, England’s Premiere League Champions, Manchester City and Japan’s Yokohama Marinos, will be hosting several events in Japan and other parts of Asia.
The arrangement marks an era of football as a force of good. This is fine with Damian Willoughby, City Football Group’s senior vice president of partnerships.
In regards to the Melco’s new community football program, he has expressed delight in welcoming the entity to the group.
“Melco and Manchester City share a common approach to have entertainment at the heart of everything we do, providing great experiences for our fans and visitors.”
We have also heard from the Yokohama Marinos’ president, Ryoji Kurosaw:
“It is a great pleasure to establish a new top-partnership between Melco Resorts and Entertainment Japan, City Football Group, and the Yokohama Marinos.
We appreciate this opportunity from the bottom of our hearts.
According to Kurosaw, Melco Resorts and Entertainment provides one of the best leisure and entertainment experiences in the world.
“I believe that one of our club philosophies, to create joy and excitement shares the same value with Melco’s business.”
The fans are sure to be excited about and supportive of the upcoming grassroots community service activities.
Connections run deep
Melco’s connection to Japan runs deep. The company has been doing business there for over twelve years. Lawrence Ho, CEO, is proud to support the Marinos’ upcoming programs.
In fact, Ho states that building successful teams and successful partnerships have a lot in common.
“At Melco, we look for shared ambition and 21st century values. And in Manchester City and Marinos we have found perfect partners, businesses that excel at entertaining whilst putting community first.”
To put things in perspective, the partnership is all part of a wider plan to help Japan move forward with an integrated resort launch.
Legalized casinos in the country are enabling operators like Melco go get a foothold in the local gaming industry. The company has already signed a deal with Crown Resorts to boost their chances of getting licensed in Asia.
