The House of Reps in the state of Massachusetts has passed a bill that effectively legalizes sports betting in the country. On the 28th of July, the house voted 156 to 3, which passed H.4879. The bill will not move to the senate.

If the senate infuses further changes to the bill, they will need to be approved by the House of Reps by today, which is when the current legislative session ends.

The House Committee Ways and Means sponsored the bill, and it is an act prepared to facilitate partnership for growth in Massachusetts. The law also sets out several recommended measures, including the Sports wagering Act, which is meant to legalize land-based, mobile, and online sports betting.
