With social distancing in place, Mississippi will soon see the reopening of MGM Resorts. It has been closed, like all other local venues since mid-March due to the coronavirus.
It is good news for the casino operators and hopefully more will follow. Gambling facilities have long lain dormant due to the pandemic.
While MGM Resorts may be the latest venue to reopen, Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica plans to welcome the public on May 25,.
Then as soon as June 1st, the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi can receive customers.
To mark the big event, MGM plans to host an invitation-only weekend at each casino ahead of them reopening to the public.
Everyone is required to follow the new Mississippi Gaming Commission guidelines. This means that each casino will operate at 50% capacity.
MGM is making plans to reconfigure table games and slot machines to allow for social distancing.
