NBA players are now turning to shoe designers to improve their experience in the field. Last season, the NBA lifted the sneakers restrictions, which didn’t allow players to wear their choice shoe. Let’s look at top shoe designer who has received recognition in the NBA.
1. Kickstradomis/ Sal Amezcua
Amezcua made a shoe for James Harden, Donovan Mitchell, Luca Doncic, Damian Lillard and Jordan Bell. He became famous in 2017 when he messaged Karl-Anthony Towns on Instagram whether he can get into the NBA market. Anthony responded swiftly, and the two now work together.
Amezcua made Town a pair of shoe for Halloween period which later went viral. The shoe was televised everywhere, and Amezcua life changed for good. Town opened the door for people to see what he is capable of doing.
2. Andrew Lewis
He grew up in a military base and was always amazed by the sneakers soldiers wore. His love for designing started while still in high school. He was able to restore sneakers and customize them since he couldn’t afford a new one.
Last season, he made more than sixty pairs for NBA players. What made him to be known is his work for Detroit Piston guard Langston Galloway. Lewis work contains a detailed portrait and takes less than sixteen hours to complete.
3. Marcus Rivera
Marcus career in the industry started seven years ago. He has been making training shoes for Miami Dolphins players. His work came to be known after he made Dwayne Wade a unique pair to honor his career with the Heats. Marcus has been doing shoe customization as an art.
4. Sierato/ Cory Bailey
He is based in Baltimore. He started as a tattoo artist; then he entered into shoes making. He first made boot for NFL players and rappers, but he is now working with NBA players.
He also works with other young players; for example, Zion Williamson wore his designer shoe during last NBA Summer League.
Other players who wore his brand include Bronny James, the firstborn son of LeBron James, Shaq’s son Shareef O’Neal. He is also hoping to work with Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant.
