GoPro, the world’s most well-known modern cam brand, has set its sights to woo vloggers with its new GoPro Hero 8 Black edition. This new camera by GoPro is said to have support for numerous hardware add-ons to help with high-quality live-action video recording and photography.

In the global market of live-action cameras, GoPro remains the best-selling photo and videography camera device across the globe. With this new installment in the company’s hallmark Hero™ cam device series, GoPro is aiming to woo celebrity vloggers who push themselves with daring adventures and make videos to show to their millions of admirers/viewers on YouTube and other platforms.

However, this time things do not seem so promising for the American camera maker: GoPro is now facing tough competition from the Chinese drone tech giant and camera maker DJI, which has already entered the live-action camera market back in May of this year. Additionally, what is more concerning about the new Black edition of GoPro Hero 8 is while adding some new features in the hardware support section, there is relatively nothing noteworthy added furthermore to make the product extra enticing.

Since the launch of GoPro Hero 7 Black in 2018, the company scored a huge victory over all live-action camera makers around the world as the product was a great improvisation in the GoPro series. But after the hiatus of GoPro 7 ended, the company failed to live up to the expectations of its customer bases – it even disclosed huge downward trend of its shares. And if this new GoPro Hero 8 Black edition fails to impress, the noted live-action cam maker may well resort to desperateness to remain in the business even.

While Hero 8 only has one standout feature of hardware add-ons mode, it is nevertheless an impressive move by the company. The GoPro Hero 8 Black edition now allows three optional hardware accessories support which will significantly enhance audio capturing, improve video/photo capturing in dim light, and provide better functionality for self-shooting frames. So, armed with one major, and few slight changes, we will have to wait and see how GoPro’s latest camera hardware will perform amongst some good competition coming up from other credible makers in the live-action cam niche.
