It was announced on Thursday that The Pennsylvania Lottery has set a new record of $4.5 billion during the latest financial year and also saw record hike in profit and payouts. The Lottery saw a profit of $1.14 billion and paid a record of more than $2.9 billion in prizes to winner from July 1, 2018, to June 30.
Executive Director of PA Lottery, Drew Svitko, said:
“Helping older Pennsylvanians every day is more than just our mission statement. Families across the commonwealth count on the dynamic senior programs that are funded by the Pennsylvania Lottery. That is why we are really proud to have set a new profit record while greater than $1 billion in proceeds to benefit older adults for the eighth consecutive year,”
Sales in the 2018–19 monetary year was up more than $302 million from the 2017–18 fiscal year, and returns were up by nearly $50 million over the similar retro. The PA Lottery’s earlier maximum profit was in 2015–16 when it got $1.12 billion.
In 2018–19, awarded prize money increase by $193 million and 70 players won $1 million or more. Sales directives for more than 9700 PA Lottery vendors totaled $266 million.
PA iLottery sales, encompassing online games on computers, tablets and mobile devices, generated $381 million and $332 million in prizes were paid to lottery winners In its first full fiscal year of use.
