Technology

Eric Foote has been hired by Points Bet. The Australian online sports betting operator has tasked Foote to be their new chief commercial officer for the U.S. market. Before taking this position, Foote was a vice president of business development and partnerships for CBS Sports Digital.

Foote will be leading the U.S. operations from Denver, Colorado and his first workday at the new office will start on January 6. He knows the local market and is also quite experienced in monitoring American sports and media.

“Sports betting is just getting started in the US and I’m excited to be joining such an ambitious, talented and well-positioned team,” Foote said. “PointsBet has already established a successful business and made significant progress since PASPA repeal, and I look forward to working with the team in pursuit of market leadership.”

PointsBet’s chief executive Sam Swanell added:

“We are very pleased that a senior executive of Eric’s quality and experience is joining PointsBet. His understanding of the US media landscape and the opportunities that this can provide our company will be invaluable as we continue to expand across the United States and seek strategic partnerships.”
