While there is an abundance of Sporting talent in the Province of Kwa-Zulu Natal and South Africa at large, inequalities within the country remain very high. Sadly most individuals from poorer backgrounds have very little opportunities to hone and cultivate their talents.

The Global Sports Consortium is a new Non-Profit Organization (NPO) which will aim to create more Sports opportunities for youth across the nation. The US has become a retirement village for many top footballers. It is a less physically demanding League and players are also able to enjoy much more freedom in the States as football is still a growing sport there.

“English football has grown massively over here [in the US],” he said. “It wasn’t like that in the past and it’ll continue to get bigger.

“I was surprised walking out of the hotel today and being recognised by one or two people. I didn’t expect that over here.

“This is a country I would one day love to be able to come to. Your weather is a lot better over here than ours is.

“Hopefully one day I can bring my family over here.”
