On Tuesday night, Red Sox were almost drawing with Tampa Bay. In the ninth inning, Sox allowed two runs. From that point, they didn’t rest until first baseman Christian Vazquez made a play on the ground to leave the base loaded, he failed a double play, a walk and two singles.
However, they made it at the end with a 5-4 victory; now there are 56-46 with ten games over .500. They have overtaken Rays who have 57-47 with .001 percent. They are currently second in AL East.
Sox have won five of seven games. They also have a 5-0 record at Tropicana Field this season. On other hand, Rays have lost seven of their eight last games. Red Sox pinch hitters are 21 of 57 (.368) this season with five home runs and 15 RBIs. Vazquez is 3 of 8 with two of the homers.
Sox’s late victory is a clear indication that their roster has flaws.
