RI Sport’s Gambling Revenues Soared in September

Rhode Island’s betting revenues nearly tripled to settle at $2.5 million this past September, with a significant increase being experienced in the retail gambling segment via mobile platforms.

Gross Market revenues went up 195.4 percent from August’s $851778, which broke the last record of $2.2 million for June 2019. Punter wagered close to more than $22.2 million. This represents about 120.6 percent rise over the previous month’s value of $10.1 million.
Although the markets opened around November of 2018, a yearly comparison has not been posted.

Retail remains a significant form of sports betting this September. Consumers of betting services spent close to $18.8 million at Twin River Tiverton and Twin River casinos. This represents an increase of 177.7 percent, which is more than August’s numbers before mobile platforms had been launched.
