A “malicious third party” affected some of the systems of Quora. According to Quora, this unauthorized access on the Quora’s systems affected almost 100 million users of Quora.

Quora is a website builder to help its users with all types of questions and get the correct answers to them. On this website, users can ask questions and get the right answer. The users can even give their answers to any question. The website is published by Quora Inc. and is based in Mountain View, California. The website is available for its users since 2010.

The website has built a great trust among its users and people believe the answers on the website to be perfectly correct. But due the effect malicious third party had on Quora’s systems, its users were at a shock. The information like name, email address, encrypted password, and other data were exported from the linked networks when the authorized users tried to log in.

To stop this Quora is logging out its authorized users who are expected to be affected. This will prevent the effect to stop quickly and will secure the data of its users.

According to Quora’s CEO Adam D’Angelo’s blog, his team now working in identifying the users who are affected due to this malicious third party and will modify them accordingly to change their passwords and details.

The breach was discovered on Friday and according to Quora’s officials, this breach did not affect question and answers that are written by anonymous sources. Quora has also notified the law enforcement officials to have a look into this matter and catch the right person or organization who has caused this breach.

According to the Quora’s official, this breach will soon be resolved and the website will be back on track for its users.
