UK Minister for Sports & Civil Society (DCMS), Mis Davies, suggested that the National Lottery will need to make changes, in an interview with ‘House Magazine’. Speaking to the Commons magazine, Davies revealed plans to push for higher standards across all UK gambling operators, but not before explaining how she plans to eradicate all current forms of gambling for under 18’s. Changing in the UK gambling laws are needed, which would see the minimum age for any form of gambling to be 18+, this would include playing National Lottery draws and scratchcards, both currently on sale to those over 16 years of age. The government wants to deliver a message across the gambling industry, that “gambling starts at the age of 18”.
