Stan Collymore Says Solksjaer Could Be Sacked By United If Tottenham Beat Liverpool

football

There is no doubt that most Manchester United fans will be supporting Tottenham during the Champions League final against Liverpool. Stan Collymore however believes that a victory for the Lilywhites could have an effect on Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s future as manager of the Red Devils.

After taking over the Red Devils In December, Solksjaer started of life impressively as United manager. He even managed to remarkably lead the side to victory against Paris-Saint Germain during the last 16 of this seasons Champions League.

Some fans are now questioning whether the club were correct to hand Solksjaer the managerial job on a full-time basis following a late season slump in form. Spurs boss Pochettino recently flirted with the idea that he could leave his club soon. If he is made available, United could display interest in one of the world’s most highly-rated managers.

When asked if he thinks that Solksjaer could soon be sacked, Collymore said:

“Yes I do. Already, I do.

“I know that a lot of people would think it would be crass and for Ed Woodward it would be a massive failure, because they’ve employed Micky [Mike] Phelan as an assistant.

“But that is a bad result at home against Cardiff, last day of the season, when you want to be sending people off for the summer [on a high].”
