Good, even great, poker players come from everywhere, but Holland seems to have its fair share.
In fact, the top ten legends of the game in Dutch history are available. For the curious, we list them last to first.

Tobias Peters ($2,205,757): No one can ignore his high-profile finishes on the tournament circuit (although not always first). Among them: the WSOP Circuit in Rotterdam in 2018, the 2015 Masters Classics of Poker in Amsterdam and the $1,500 NLHE Bounty event in Las Vegas in 2017.

David Boyaciyan ($2,217,040): History was made when he came in second at the 2011 EPT Prague Main Event (later placing third in 2012). Boyacian also won over a half million dollars at the Masters Classics of Poker in 2011.

Paul Berende ($2,258,078): The 2009 Masters Classics of Poker event in Amsterdam brough him his big win. He also finished in fifth place at the 2010 EPT High Roller in Monte Carlo, stealing the $1.2m win against Olivier Busquet.

Ruben Visser ($2,426,183): 2013 was the year for Visser at the $5,000-entry 2013 EPT Main Event. He was also a winner of the Masters Classics of Poker in 2014, beating poker star David Boyaciyan heads-up.

Steven van Zadelhoff ($2,479,524): Known as a fitness buff, van Zadelhoff saw victories on the Spanish Poker Tour. He was runner-up in October’s Battle of Malta Main Event. With many victories, he is one of the most successful Dutch exports.

Govert Metaal ($2,811,235): A multiple tournament title holder, Metaal has been at it for twelve years. Of note, he scored big at the PCA $25k High Roller back in 2011. He has won titles in many countries including Holland.

Rob Hollink ($3,710,202): A talented player, Hollink has won many events, gagging the 2008 Limit Hold’em bracelet for almiost half a million dollars. He hit the big time at the €10,000-entry EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo in 2005.

Pieter de Korver ($4,094,678): We think of him winning the EPT Grand Final ten years ago in Monte Carlo. He raked in over three million against hundreds of top contenders.

Jorryt van Hoof ($4,984,280): In number two spot is the charismatic player who finished third in the ‘Scandi Final’. His credits include winning over a million dollars in top-tier events and triumphing at the High Roller at the Masters Classics of Poker.

And the top winner in Dutch poker history is….

Marcel Luske ($5,013,396): the top spot goes to a special player and showman known for the WSOP Main Event in 2017 among other tournaments. We remember the Five-Star World Poker Classic and Hall of Fame Poker Classic in Paris. He tops the leader board with the most wins in Dutch poker history.
