Poker fans take heed. The Championship events of the World Series of Poker will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino this summer.
Some details are already known. For one, there is a new variant of the lucrative and legendary $50,000-entry Poker Players Championship, the No Limit Hold’em 2-7 Single Draw.
The event is expected to be a major draw in spite of the fact that the $10,000 Heads-Up Championship Event is gone.
But there is plenty to look forward to among the 32 events announced. Buy-ins are as usual: $10,000 apart from the Poker Players Championship ($50,000).
The Las Vegas poker festival is famed the world over, and is, in fact, coming into its 51st series. The WSOP Main event is the biggest live poker tournament in the world.
The $10,000-entry WSOP online event takes place on July 2. WSOP Vice President Jack Effel notes that these events are very special.
“We are proud to be the only tournament series who spreads such an offering and have worked with some of the games most distinguished players this off-season to ensure our schedule aligns well with where poker is in 2020.”
This year will see a Player of the Year race and a Championship Events Only Player of the Year leaderboad. It is slated for the highest rollers around.
The 2020 WSOP is expected to be bigger than ever and gets underway May 26 through July 15.
