Racing is soon going to be friendly for people with mental health issues. The kindred group has decided to invest in Go Racing Green. With this initiative, racegoers who suffer mental illness can now ease up and enjoy racing. The very first thing that Kindred Group is doing is backing a pilot project on the same with its Unibet brand. The launch of the project is in Newbury Racecourse on Aug 17. It also includes Unibet Hungerford Stakes race.
Kindred Group has requested all the audiences to wear something green for this initiative. The organizers believe that it will ease up the anxiety for the people who suffer from mental illness and they could easily approach anyone. The pilot project is also organizing a quiet area of an alcohol-free zone. The plan is much bigger and wider and the organizers believe that the scheme of things would get its wings after the pilot project. Unibet is planning to have a training session with permanent staff at Newbury Racecourse to help people enjoy racing who have mental issues like anxiety or dementia.
Debbie Matthews, founder of Go Racing Green is quite hopeful and excited about this investment. He believes that this investment would help his company to take strides and reach wider communities and racecourses in the UK. Ed Nicholson, Head of Racing Communication for Kindred Group is in all praise for the new model of sports sponsorship as well. He mentioned that the decision of investment became easy after watching the training earlier this week. He also affirmed that Kindred Group is leading its way for this new sports sponsorship model for a wider community.
It looks evident that the partnership of Unibet and Go Racing Green can change the racing forever. Both the companies are planning to build on top of the pilot project and the scheme of things would expand in coming months to various parts of the UK, re-assured Debbie Matthews, and Ed Nicholson.
