West Ham midfielder Manuel Lanzini is set to undergo a scan for the groin injury which he sustained while playing for his side during their 2-1 loss against Manchester United on Saturday.
According to popular West Ham website Claret and Hugh, the Argentinian will not play a part in his country’s next Premier League game against Leicester City next weekend.
As things stand, the extent of Lanzini’s injury is not known. Groin injuries generally have a recovery period of between one week to a month. Lanzini has been unavailable for the vast majority of this season due to a serious injury which he sustained while training with the Argentinian national team ahead of their 2018 World Cup campaign.
The 26-year-old has so far played just eight times in the Premier League this season and notched one assist. When fully fit, he is a destructive player and without doubt, one of the best in the Hammers setup.
