Washington Post Launches New Section that Covers Esports and Video Gaming

The Washington Post, a reputable media house, has launched a new section that will focus on esports, video games, and the gaming culture. The new division, dubbed launcher, will now feature analysis on people, teams, trends, and companies that make up an industry that has taken up the society by storm.

According to Emilio Garcia-Ruiz, managing editor at the Washington Post, the gaming industry is deeply ingrained in the society’s fabric. Currently, the gaming industry is influencing sports, business, pop culture, and tech.

With the introduction of the launcher and a strong team, the Washington Post will be looking at gaming holistically. It hopes to appeal to every stakeholder in the gaming industry including casual players as well as passionate esports fans. Mike Humes, editor at launcher, is expected the head the staff in this new venture.
