The FIFA Awards is on. In a flashy ceremony in Milan, the best FIFA players and coaches will be decided. Since the ceremony is still ongoing we can only name those who made it to the shortlist. Drum rolls…let the party begin.
For Best FIFA Men’s Player, Lionel Messi, Christiano Ronaldo and Virgil Van Dijk will be contesting for the coveted crown. Messi and Ronaldo have been consistent in their performance and it is no shocker if either of them goes home with it.
However, we cannot underestimate Van Dijk’s contribution from last season, Apart from helping his team win the Champions League, the Dutch was crowned the UEFA player of the year.
Moving to the Best FIFA Women’s Player, Lyon’s Lucy Bronze, Orlando Pride’s Alex Morgan and Reign FC’s Megan Rapinoe have been shortlisted. The three have outdone themselves and we can’t wait to see who will get the cup.
Another category to be awarded is the Best FIFA Men’s Coach. And if you are thinking about coaches who have had a good season this time round then you are on the right track. Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino have made it to the list.
Lastly is the Best FIFA Women’s Coach. The three shortlisted include; Jill Ellis, Sarina Wiegman and Phil Neville. Phil Neville has already gotten his best of luck wishes from his fans on tweeter.
