Arsene Wenger rejected the chance to sign Denis Suarez just before he stepped down as Arsenal manager. Suarez arrived at the Gunners during the January transfer window. He failed to impress as he made just four Premier League appearances and did not look very comfortable when on the ball.
Considering that he spent time with Barcelona, some would have had high expectations for Suarez. He is now headed back to Barcelona and the Gunners will not exercise their option to purchase him on a permanent basis.
Barcelona reportedly offered the Gunners the chance to sign Suarez more than a year ago but the Frenchman opted not to take up the option. Suarez eventually joined the Gunners in January on a short-term loan deal after Emery decided to bring him to the Premier League. It was a decision which clearly did not work out well.
