Bet365, the UK online betting giant, has canceled its telephone betting business, claiming an increasing lack of interest in the service. According to Racing Post, Bet365 formally closed its longstanding tele-betting operations on Monday very few punters were utilizing the service. Spokesperson Pat Cooney stated that tele-betting “had become such a minimal part of our business that it did not justify the staffing levels.”

According to Cooney, the company revealed new positions for all affected staffers. These are the ones most likely identified around Bet365’s Stoke offices by their oversized cauliflower ears. Legacy telephone bettors are encouraged to call the company’s main customer service line and transfer their accounts to the digital realm if they fail to get an answer. There are few remaining options for punters who prefer the personal touch resulting from Bet365’s decision to axe its phone service.

In the meantime, there is a roll-on unimpeded by pesky distractions such as global pandemics by Bet365’s money-printing digital operations. Reports indicate that Bet365 was crushing its UK competition in terms of the number of site visits by UK punters. reported nearly 20.9m visits from UK customers in April. At the same time, second-place SkyBet was well back at just under 16m. After the Bet365 site recorded nearly 12 times as many visits in the latter market as its nearest competitor, it is claimed that they outpaced the competition in Chile and Brazil.
