Fine of US$20k Levied on Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino

casino

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission (IRGC) is cracking down on underage gambling. To make a point, it has imposed a fine of US$20k on Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino.

The regulatory body had learned about a 19-year-old gambler on premises. Their action is just in time for the launch of sports betting in the state.

It remains to be seen if all will go as well as planned given a decision delay over debtors’ winnings by the Iowa Administrative Rules Review Committee. Casinos operators had actually made the request to the legislature.

The sports betting bill has passed nonetheless, but it was unclear on debt collection.
